Black Magic

In a remote town in Australian desert country, an elderly Aboriginal man is accused of murder. No legislation exists to charge him, there is no evidence of any offence having been committed, and the alleged manner of the crime is considered an impossibility. Cultural and religious beliefs are disputed as local and national governments, laws and lawyers, business interests, medical science, and popular opinion clash.

A defence lawyer, pressured into accepting a case with no precedence or validity in law, attempts to establish his client’s innocence as the media and legal system are manipulated to bring the accused man to trial. But no one seems to know who is doing it. Or why.
