Tracey Barker lives in Yorkshire with her three dogs and tortoise, sharing her time between Whitby and Sheffield where she writes and works part time as a Hospice Pharmacy Site Co-Ordinator.
As well as her Pharmacy background and an NHS Career spanning forty-plus years, she has a Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Leeds University and has practised as a counsellor in a Primary Care setting.
Her love of books and writing emerged during childhood when she was encouraged by her parents to read before starting primary school eventually discovering the wonderful James Herriott who shared her love of Yorkshire.
Tracey’s rhyming children’s picture books are all inspired by a passion for animals, her first two books published by Austin McAuley were based upon her own animals a Skunk named Sansa and a Prairie Dog named Dust Puppy!
Her latest children’s book published by Blossom Spring is inspired by her love of Sloths and a species of moth who actually live on them.
