Madeline Castrey

MCastrey Headshot

Madeline Castrey is a musician, performer and educator from Surrey, England.

She was the first 16-year-old admitted onto a degree course at The London College of Music and graduated with a Master’s degree in 2017. After graduating, Madeline was invited to take on a lecturing role within the institution, becoming one of the youngest lecturers in the country. She has also built an established performance career, having appeared in several West End, television and London opera productions.

Madeline is also the proud recipient of a Princess Diana Award for fundraising, having raised huge amounts for various national and international causes. One of her main ambitions is to improve accessibility to music, and as such, Madeline has pioneered the formation of several projects and organisations to provide new ways to engage with music and the arts. She has composed two charity singles featured on radio and television shows alike, and has many future ideas in the pipeline!

Madeline is delighted to share her first book, Fresher Pressure, on the university experience, written from her unique perspective as a young lecturer and current PhD student – and she hopes to enrich this experience for tomorrow’s professionals.
