Leanne Ross is a passionate and multifaceted professional whose career spans animal welfare, emergency healthcare, and public health. She began her journey with an animal charity, dedicating a decade to caring for stray and neglected animals. Her compassion and drive to help others led her to become a paramedic and earn a Bachelor’s degree in Paramedic Science, and she is currently studying for her Master’s degree in Advanced Practice.

Away from work, Leanne is a reptile and invertebrate enthusiast, a qualified scuba diver, and an adventurer, having successfully scaled Mount Kilimanjaro for charity. She lives with her Fiancé, their two young children, a dog, and a quirky collection of stick insects.

Leanne’s writing is inspired by her love of insects and her desire to help children see them in a new light. Many children feel uneasy around bugs and “creepy-crawlies,” but Leanne believes that through education and storytelling, young readers can learn to appreciate their fascinating qualities and feel more confident and curious about the natural world.
