Lance Price is a writer and journalist. He is the author of four previous books, including Time and Fate, a novel. Petrified is his first story for younger readers. He lives near Skipton in North Yorkshire.

Lance has worked in television and radio and can still be seen from time to time reviewing the papers on the BBC and commenting on current affairs. He founded the LGBT charity, The Kaleidoscope Trust and now works for the Jo Cox Foundation. He will be donating his earnings from Petrified to help the Foundation with its work to build strong communities and combat extremism.

Lance speaks French badly and plays the piano very badly too! He’s a keen traveller and photographer and loves walking in the Yorkshire Dales with his husband and their large black labrador, Jake.
