Karen has spent much of her life in North Yorkshire and the city of York has been home for many years. After graduating with a degree in Modern Languages, she spent several years abroad working in Paris and Spain, before returning to the UK where she married and raised a family. In 2014 she established a coffee shop in her home village and since then has built it into a thriving business at the heart of the community.
Karen had a long-held dream to write a novel, but it was only when lockdown afforded her the time that she finally put pen to paper. With a keen interest in family history, she was eager to tell the story of her Great Grandfather, who served as an ambulance driver in France and Flanders during the First World War. The result was her debut novel ‘Soldier without a Gun’.
Karen is planning a sequel and a children’s book.
