Jon Clynch started life in Islington, north London, in 1967 and has moved house many times, settling in the Peterborough area in 1983.
In the mid-70s, his parents got rid of the ‘Gogglebox’, and so he spent many hours in the wonderful local library where he developed a deep love of reading. He also enjoyed creating stories during English lessons, many of which were often read out to the entire class, bringing him terror and pride in equal measure.
Although a budding wordsmith from a young age, Jon’s literary adventure took 50 years to become a reality. Acting on the spur of the moment, he took the plunge and entered a short story competition in 2018 run by a small local publisher. He crafted a story in less than two hours and emailed it with little hope of winning. Much to his surprise, he won! The winning tale appeared in the Fens magazine, giving him the confidence to share his stories with the world.
In 2019, Jon became a full time content writer and copywriter, and is happier than he’s ever been throughout his varied working life.
Jon’s interests include archaeology, history, folklore, the supernatural, magic and legend, all of which fire his imagination, inspiring more ideas for future stories. Most of all, Jon enjoys spending quality time with his family, whether it’s walking in woodland and countryside or around sites of historic interest.
Jon Clynch adds a sprinkle of magic to the mundane, turning the ordinary into something extraordinary. His aim is to write stories where words are the key to doors leading to worlds unknown, and where readers are in for a fantastical journey!
