I was born in Leeds and have lived here for most of my life. I am married to Robert, who is a landscape designer, artist, illustrator and author. We have three grown‑up children and nine wonderful grandchildren.
I have always loved reading to my grandchildren, and for many years I hoped that one day I would write a children’s book of my own. Life was busy, and I never quite found the time, but now I finally have. “Ken And The Magic Caterpillar Tracks” is my debut book, and it has been made even more special by Robert creating all the illustrations.
The idea for the story came to me one evening while chatting with a few local people. Ken, who was always inventing things when he was younger, told us about how he had once created caterpillar tracks for skis and sledges to help people train in England for the Winter Olympics in the 1980s. His creativity sparked my imagination and set this story in motion.
I am delighted to see my finished book ready to be shared with young readers.
